We carry out research in education aiming to develop practitioners as researchers / who considers / various issues in modern society and in education.

Goals and Features of the Course

In this course of study, a primarily goal is to develop "practitioners as researchers / a practical researcher" that is practical and who considers various issues in modern society through creation of the fruitful practice of education in social studies at schools. We also cultivate competent educators involving lifelong education who carry out research and education which enable them to meet the various needs of society.
For this, we promote the development of teaching materials for social studies education (including geography-history courses and civics courses) and seminars emphasizing research methods in various fields to improve the profession. Along with these, we also try to contribute to practical research and research-based practice in the field of social studies education by focusing on two research phases of social studies education: the research of practical history about social studies education and qualitative educational research methods in social studies classes.
